“To Enchant”
I see my art- and art in general- as windows to worlds other than our own. Since my childhood I have found it especially tantalizing to enter these worlds, sometimes for hours on end, and explore an artist’s vision. I find that often it provides a window into the artist’s own mind, and allows me to see the subject matter from their own perspective.
Because of this relationship with art, I harness my creative abilities to construct worlds that I want to enter into. More often than not, this results in my projects being centered around feelings of peace, love, joy, and any of the other things that make life worth living. To me, anything that can begin to capture the vastness of the human experience has the power to enchant me with its beauty. All in all, my process is essentially identifying the beauty that I see in the world and representing it in a way that can leave a lasting impression on a person.
By doing this. I am also reflecting on my deepest desire for my life and the world around me: to make the world a more beautiful place. If anyone can look at my art and feel these enchanting impressions from it, my hope is that they will be swayed to see more of these impressions in the very real world that we are all a part of.
